Currently, we are seeking a talented Back-end Developer to join our team for the development of our project, Desa World.
Desa World revolves around creating social and economic impact by building a virtual world that offers a new experience in entertainment, education, and connecting with like-minded people. All these activities take place in a thoughtful ecosystem centered around you.
Who are you?
As an experienced Back-end Developer, you are the link that brings our virtual world to life. You are an expert in programming languages commonly used in backend development, such as Java, C++, C#, Python, and other relevant languages. In our case, knowledge of C++ for Unreal Engine is essential.
What will you do?
As a Back-end Developer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining server-side systems for Desa World. You will work closely with our team of modelers, designers, and programmers to produce high-quality games. Your tasks will include:
- Managing game instances and processing game data.
- Implementing scalable architectures to accommodate a large number of players.
- Understanding network protocols, socket programming, and data serialization for real-time interactions between players and the server.
- Working with databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases, to handle massive amounts of data, including player profiles, inventories, and in-game assets.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform for managing and scaling the infrastructure as the number of players grows.
- Implementing security measures to protect the game and players from hackers and cheaters.
- Optimizing code and designing systems that can scale with the player base for an optimal experience.
- Handling real-time interactions between players and updating the game’s status in real-time.
- Collaborating with other team members, including front-end developers, game designers, and 3D artists, for seamless integration between client and server.
- Experience with version control systems like Git or Perforce for collaborative development.
- Problem-solving ability to address unique challenges in MMO game development.
- Experience in using Unreal Engine to build robust and efficient backend systems.
- Testing and debugging games to ensure a stable and playable experience.
- Working well in a team and effective project management to meet deadlines and organize Desa’s development.
